Holy crap! They're really saving one baguette for me! But now, knowing that, I HAVE to go there every day. I don't want to disappoint them and the trust they've put into me! ..... I guess I'm a pretty predictable guy.

Aaaaand it's over....

Ok. Although this years JLPT was by FAR the hardest one we've ever had, I'm left with a feeling of relief and freedom now that it's over. :P We won't get the results until sometime in February so there's plenty time to forget about how crappy it went.

Yesterday I went by the bakery by the station on my way home. I tend to do that every other day or so. But this time, as I walked in, there were no baguettes! All out! And then, the woman behind the counter walks up to me with a brand spanking new baguette already in a bag and ready to go! About time I started gettin' some rEspEctah! in da hood, know what I'm sayin'?

Ok, Dracula X Chronicles for PSP is totally owning my life right now. I can't seem to put it down. Haven't completely finished the remake of Rondo of Blood yet but I've played through Symphony of the Night twice already. :P I love those kinds of games. That's probably why Metroid Zero Mission and Fusion owned me a few years back, and before Dracula X came into my possession it was the other Castlevania games for DS. Been listening to the new Kent album for several days now. It grows on you. Me and Christer bought tickets for Nikko yesterday. It'll be my second visit, hopefully the weather will be better than last time I was there. :P
Not much else going on. School every day. One month left until it's time for JLPT level 2. ... .......... Ok back to Castlevania for me. :D

Miriam and Fanny went home to Sweden this morning. :(
We had a kind of a "wake" at Fanny's house last night. Sat around drinking until about 6 in the morning when Miriam and Fanny took a taxi to the station to go to Narita. I cried a little I think. Strange, I usually don't concerning things like this. We had a party in Matsudo three days ago as well. Thérèse couldn't come to Fanny's house yesterday because she went to Okinawa and won't be back until next Tuesday or something, so the party in Matsudo was her last chance to say goodbye. It was quite the emotional evening. Thérèse, Fanny and Miriam go way back, and they came here together as well. Next up on the going-back-to-sweden-list is Karin, she'll be leaving November 8th. Can't wait to see what kind of mental wreck I'll be at that party. :P
On a more awesome note, K-I got here like a week ago! Nobody will go safe from the madness we will unleash on Tokyo! He also bought a computer which came preinstalled with Windows Vista, ew. So I'm gonna head out to Matsudo to try and remedy that later today. When me thought patterns are more cohesive.

A while

I have been enlightened. There is fun to be had in Roppongi contrary to my previous beliefs. Yesterday we went out to a place called Castillo. It's a small place, hardly any people there at all yesterday, but it was really great. They played 70-80's music and you could make request (yes I made LOTS of them). And so we danced the night away (except a bit at the end... when I was tired :P).
Oh, and earlier, before the Roppongi-part, me, Christer, Tobias and K-I went to Tokyo Game Show! It was cool, but not like.. "WOHOO BEST EVVARRR"-cool. Didn't play anything though, the lines were ridiculous. 4 hours to play the demo of Metal Gear Solid 4 (not that I wanted to play it but still). It was something I'm glad I did, because I probably won't be going again. Unless some really fucking great game that I reallyreally want to play and the demo is available there only, then I might consider going again sometime. Nowadays you can watch everything on the intarwebs anyway.
So, today I'm going to stay in bed (where I am now), and just.. watch movies and anime or something. My urge to move around is at this moment very small.

The X-ray Bus

Strange day today. A few days ago we were informed that there's tuberculosis going around in Tokyo now, and that we would have to get chest x-rayed. :D So today we did. We were supposed to have a small test first period but instead we had to fill out forms. Really ugly forms. You would maybe think that "Hey, Japan is pretty technological.", but these forms looked like they'd been written on a typewriter and then manually copied or something. Anyway, we filled them out and then off to Shinjuku we went. The x-ray mobile (yes! that's what they call it, I want one when I grow up) was like a 10 minute walk from the station. In, hand over the form, stand in front of the machine. KA-CLICK. Done. And then me and Christer and Tobias went to McDonalds. Yay. I proclaim this weekend FFXI-weekend. That is all.

Back then...

Loaded up my old anime opening & ending-playlist again. Feels kinda nostalgic listening to some of the songs. I remember a few years back when me and a friend used to have "Guess that op/ed"-competitions over shoutcast. Ah, the nerdness. :D I miss it. I haven't watched anime regularly since I came to Japan, almost a year now. I might start again now that the new Gundam-series is beginning in a few weeks (maybe earlier?).... checked, first episode airs October 6th apparently. The robots look kinda plain from what I've seen (the ones I saw at Gundam Expo anyway), but so did Impulse and Strike at first. I guess they're gonna flesh them out later on or replace them all together, hopefully not as ridiculously as they did with Strike Freedom with all the Meteor-packs and shit. That was a little too much. Oh yeah.. I still have that Z Gundam model I have to finish putting together.

Weekend

Another week is coming to an end. We had an evil test today, but I think I did ok. My kanji-skillz are becoming weak, have to study more. :( Damned Thérèse has contaminated me with her evil cold so I guess it's another weekend at home, playing games. :P Not that I have the money to do anything anyways. Finishing up the Cybran campaign in Supreme Commander, then I'll probably move on to Command & Conquer 3 or something. Gonna go and make som delicious 100-yen pasta and sauce, and totally drown it in garlic and tabasco. I need to get rid of this cold.

Damn you Christer. Now I've been listening to this song for approximately 3 hours straight. I've also been reading Questionable Content for 2 days straight. Must... read... more. I could also use a pillow or something for my ass before it becomes completely chair-shaped. But the ladder up to my bed is laden with drying clothes so I cannot venture there.

A few people from class and our teacher Aoki-sensei went out today. Nice Thai-restaurant close to school. A few of Aoki-sensei's friends and our teacher from 6 months ago, Nishigaki-sensei, also came. Awesomeness ensued. Insanely spicy food. Then some of us went home. Some went to Shinjuku.. or someplace... never to be heard from AGAIN! *insert Dramatic Prairiedog*
And my semi-new shoes are fucked up... I can't feel my feet at the moment.

バービーキュー

Went to a barbeque party at my old guesthouse in Matsudo last sunday. Great fun. Lots of beer and wine. Lots of meat too. Afterwards we went down to the river and set off some fireworks. A tad bit more dangerous than I expected. People running around aiming and shooting rockets and flares and stuff at each other. If you do that in Sweden you get shot.... by the midget albatross army.... yeah.

The Buddha and the train.

Yesterday I went to Kamakura to check out this dude and a
few shrines with Karin and her mother who's visiting. The
weather was... impossibly hot and after we took a look at
the Daibutsu we took a look at a map of the area and said:
"Hey, let's walk to this shrine, it looks nice.".
....yeah. We walked around for like an hour without getting
anywhere and simply decided to head out to the beach
instead. So we did. Nice waves... I wish I had a surfboard....
or knew how to surf. :P Afterwards we had a beer and
headed home. Boy were we in for a surprise.
At first, there was some kind of delay so the train from Kamakura
to Shinjuku was like 30 minutes late. Some old guy started chatting
with us and told us what the announcer were saying and stuff.
But then he felt obligated to show us pictures from where he'd been
today and wouldn't stop talking. Showed us about 30 pictures of the
ocean and the beach saying; "The ocean's beautiful, isn't it?"
to all of them. Then when we finally got on the train, it wasn't the
train we thought. So we got off about 2 stations later and decided
to wait for the right train.
...and then. The thunderstorm of HELL hit us. Deafening thunderclaps
and lightning all around. The lights in the houses around the station
flickered and went out, then came back. It was kinda spectacular. :)
We waited for another half an hour, then got on the train. Excellent.
The train moved about 200 meters, then stopped. Aaand stood still, for
about 1 hour.. or something. Maybe more, I forget. The lightning had
destroyed some kind of relay or traffic signal or something.
When we finally got to Shinjuku (or Takadanobaba where we were
changing trains) it was half past 10. A train ride that should have taken
about 1,5 hours took 4 hours instead. Tired and hungry, we went to an
isakaya near the station and ate and had a beer (or two?) and then went home.

Commercial-time!

This new shampoo I bought.... is great.
It's called Sunstar Tonic.... and it feels like washing
your hair with toothpaste. Well not all sticky and stuff.. but
the freshness. Menthol shampoo is my new drug.
Today: Transformers in Ikebukuro. Second time I watch it. :D

There and back again.... and then back there again, and then back.

A day to remember indeed.
Met Thérèse at Shinjuku station at 11 to head out to Kaihin-Makuhari and Summer Sonic. Took about an hour. Lost my cellphone on the train and had to report it to the station staff. :/
And then I couldn't get a ticket. And Miriam had lost hers. And then some other crap happened. And then me and Miriam went to Nekobukuro.
AND WHERE THE FUCK DID THIS POST GO. :(

Yeah, so I came back from my two week vacation in Sweden where I'd been visiting family and friends and stuff. When I left two weeks ago the weather was... well it was hot. But fuck me. This is ridiculous. I was expecting heat, but this pacifying heat is not quite what I'd
prepared for.
You get kinda used to it quickly though, but if you walk into a store or step on the train. You're fucked.
Especially 99 Shop here in Kumegawa, they have like... subzero temperatures, which is kinda nice, but when you go back outside again; BAM! It's like walking into a wall of.... well something hot.
And I sweat, a lot. And now I'm jatlagged as fuck too. Plane landed at 8something AM local time, and I didn't get home until 1pm or thereabouts. And then I made a bad decision (one of many) of taking a nap. So I woke up at 8pm.
There's some kind of music festival called Summer Sonic today and tomorrow. I have no ticket but I'm planning on going there anyway to see if I can get one outside or something. The Pillows are playing and I'd really like to see them live at least ONCE during my lifetime (i.e, my stay here in Japan).
Yeah, and now I'm going to try to get drunk so I can fall asleep so I don't stay up till 5am! Yay healthy!
